The Artist’s Agora™…
is a gathering place for creators who believe that art isn’t mere decoration.
It’s revelation.
Who we are
We’re writers, musicians, philosophers, and storytellers reclaiming the lost art of meaning. In a world that rewards speed and spectacle, we’re after something older, deeper, and more enduring: the slow burn of beauty, the rhythm of truth, the quiet power of myth.
Here, we share stories that echo the the great myth makers of history. We produce podcasts and videos that wrestle with the invisible forces shaping our lives. We offer tools and training for creators who want to build something of real substance rather than cheap fodder that will “trend” online for the next 15 minutes.
Whether you’re a seasoned artist or a curious seeker, this is your invitation to step into the threshold invisible, to meet fellow travelers, and to rediscover what it means to create with purpose.
Welcome to the Agora.
The fire is lit. The circle is open. Let’s begin.
About the founder
James D. Newcomb is a Narrative Strategist, storyteller, and creator of two distinct podcast series:
Well, That’s a Deep Subject — an interview-style show exploring the unseen layers of everyday life; and
Whispers From the Threshold Invisible — a mythic storytelling series that revives ancient wisdom through modern allegory.
A former professional musician turned media craftsman, James has spent the past decade helping creators shape their message into stories that resonate. His work blends myth, philosophy, and strategic communication — not to chase clicks, but to spark awakening.
He founded The Artist's Agora™ as a refuge from the noise: a place where creators and seekers can rediscover the sacred threads of meaning, beauty, and purpose in a world that too often trades soul for spectacle.
James is currently pursuing a PhD in Government Studies at Regent University, where his research examines how narrative — especially myth — shapes culture, political imagination, and even resistance against modern tyrannical regimes.
He lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota with his wife, Sana, who brings the grace and depth of her Persian heritage into every corner of their life together — and Cinnamon, a miniature poodle with a big personality and a quiet wisdom all her own.
